About the Game

Football is a family of team sports that involve, to varying degrees, kicking a ball with a foot to score a goal.A football match is played by two teams, with each allowed no more than 11 players on the field at any one time, one of whom is a goalkeeper.

Rules

  • Each college can field only one team in the tournament. Each team should field 8 members (7 outfield players + 1 goalkeeper) with 2 substitutions. Rolling substitutions are allowed.
  • The tournament will be of knockout format.
  • Each match will be of 20 minutes per half with a break of 5 minutes between the halves.
  • If any match is tied, then the game will be played for an extra-time of 10 minutes, played in halves of 5 minutes. In case the game is still tied, then a penalty shootout of 3 shots per team will be played. After that, the game will be decided in a sudden death.
  • Registration of teams will be on a first-come-first-serve basis.
  • No offside rule is applicable.
  • Decision of in-match officials will be final for all aspects of the match.
  • All other FIFA rules are applicable.
  • In case of any unruly activities by any of the team players, the decision will lie with the organising committee.

 Volleyball

Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team’s court under organized rules.

Rules

  • Each institute can have one participating team of 9 players (6 on-field + 3 substitutes).
  • Formation will be of 2 rows with 3 players in each row.
  • Rotation of the position of the players is not mandatory.
  • Rotation of the service is compulsory after each point break (Libero can’t serve in the match)
  • Each game is of 3 sets with 25 points per set (Except Finals).
  • Finals will be of 5 sets with 25 points per set. If there is a tie of 2-2 after the 4th set then there will be play to 15 points with a lead of at least 2.
  • Ball will be serve from right end of the court.
  • Each team will have 3 hits to return the ball to the opposition (except for the service)
  • Each team may request for 2 timeouts of 30 seconds each per set.
  • After each set there will a break of 2 minutes in which there will be the side change the teams.
  • The decision by the referee is the final decision and there will be argument tolerated against the decision of the referee.
  • Team captain will be the sole point of contact for all communications.

Table Tennis

About the Game

Table tennis, also known as ping pong, is a sport in which two or four players hit a lightweight ball back and forth across a table using small bats.

Rules

  • An institute can field a minimum of 4 players ( 2 Men and 2 Women) and maximum of 8 players ( a minimum of 2 Men and 2 Women)
  • These will be the game categories- Men singles, Men doubles, Women singles, Women doubles and Mixed doubles
  • Each of the singles and doubles matches will be best of 3 games (i.e. a team needs to win 2 out of 3 games to win a match) till Semi Finals and the Finals will be best of 5 games in all the categories.
  • Each game in the Singles category will be played for 11 points.
  • Each game in the Doubles category will be played for 21 points.
  • Participants are required to carry their own racquets. However, the balls will be provided.
  • All standard rules of the games apply.
